About the event
Autism ABC – Acceptance, Belonging & Connection is a free online training session delivered by Dr James Winkworth from Cognition Clinical Psychology.
The session offers a contemporary and affirming exploration of autism, moving beyond traditional deficit-focused approaches and an emphasis solely on diagnostic criteria. Instead, it focuses on three key themes: Acceptance, Belonging and Connection.
Drawing on Dr Winkworth’s clinical experience within CAMHS Neurodevelopmental Services and private practice, alongside contemporary thinking around autistic experience, the session will explore ways of developing a broader and more neurodiversity-affirming understanding of autism.
The training may be particularly useful for professionals working with autistic children, young people and families, as well as anyone interested in developing their understanding of autism and neurodiversity.
